Understanding the impact that climate climate change has on forced displacement is critical to informing solutions. The latest scientific findings confirm that climate change is a factor in displacement, albeit unquantified, and that climate and weather extremes are increasingly driving displacement. Climate change is influencing and amplifying the multiple underlying risk drivers of displacement. The complexity of risk drivers requires significant investments and prioritization in adaptation, risk reduction and risk-informed development strategies. As such, the need for attribution and quantification are critical if public policy and international finance are to effectively respond.
